We met at the Christmas Tree lighting in The Village of Pinehurst on December 2nd, 2022. We enjoyed some drinks and merriment at the Pine Crest Inn after the tree lighting with family and friends watching the entire process unfold. Emily was leaving with her parents and Andrew didn't think to get Emily's number, which was dubbed 'the fumble of the century' by one of the bartenders. Andrew hung his head pretty low in that moment but luckily he had her dad's number so he was able to ask for her number the next day. The next few weeks passed before having our first date on Valentine's day, which may seem like a terrible idea and for Andrew, it was, he got a bad case of food poisoning and Emily had to take care of him after. This only made our relationship stronger and we knew we had something good going on. We continued traveling between Pinehurst and Durham, building our relationship and learning new things along the way. We enjoyed a trip to New Orleans, multiple trips to Bald Head Island and Emily traveled outside of the country for the first time to visit Aruba! Emily has improved her golf game over the past few years and Andrew learned how to ski, which led to our engagement in Steamboat Springs in March of 2024. We knew immediately that we wanted to get married in Pinehurst, Emily has been visiting the area often since her parents have lived here and Andrew has loved it since his parents moved here in 2022. We can't wait to share this beautiful place with all of our closest friends to start our life together!
